Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA)

BITA’s mission is to provide a trained workforce to meet industry demand, offset worker retirement, and avoid labor shortages. BITA also enhances the public perception of the building industry, its diverse career opportunities, and hardworking employees. Download our BITA Fact Sheet.

Curriculum

BITA is a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway program. BITA 1 – 3 are UC/CSU approved under the elective (g) subject requirement. Students learn skills and knowledge needed for future careers or education in the building industry.

Now operating in 39 high schools statewide, BITA provides a hands-on approach to learning the building trades and connecting students to industry jobs and mentor opportunities.

Design Build Competition

Design Build Competition moves online. Students will design and build a tiny house with household items and present a video demonstration of the structure. OSHA 10 certification is required and registration is now open (free to all students).

CIEF Design Build Competition

Industry Support

Donate tools, visit high schools for guest speaker appearances, schedule construction site visits, and mentor a BITA student today. Industry support is the driving factor for the BITA program.

The BITA curriculum is an inclusive program to ensure that all students are provided the comprehensive education to excel in the various professions made available by the homebuilding industry, regardless of background, race, color, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, socioeconomic status or any other discriminating factor.
