Leonard Miller

BrightSky Residential LLC - A Resmark Company

Leonard joined The Resmark Companies in January 2022. Leonard was brought on to build Resmark’s “Build to Rent” platform under the entity of Bright Sky Residential In his current position as Chief Executive Officer of BrightSky, Leonard manages all day-to-day operations, oversees policy making and is responsible for creating and implementing the strategic direction of the company. In the first months, BirghtSky has become the leader in the “Built to Rent” space tying up 13 communities consisting of over 2,500 lots.

Prior to becoming a member of the BrightSky executive team, Leonard joined The New Home Company as Chief Operating Officer in 2017 and was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in January 2019. In August 2019, Leonard was elected President and Chief Executive Officer. Leonard left The New Home Company in November 2022 when the company was sold to Apollo Global Management an international hedge fund based out of New York.

Leonard worked at Richmond American Homes where he had regional and divisional responsibility for several markets in the Western United States. Before his tenure at Richmond, Leonard held several positions at Genstar Land Company, which later became a part of Newland Communities. Earlier in his career, Leonard worked for a small San Diego-based land developer that specialized in small mixed-use developments. In addition to his work in the homebuilding and development industries, Leonard spent four years in public accounting with the CPA firm Arthur Young. Leonard has served on numerous boards in leadership roles including service as president of both the Building Industry Association of Southern California and Riverside. He holds a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California, as well as an MBA from San Diego State University.
