What is an endowment?
Endowments are monetary gifts providing perpetual funding for the designated charitable organization. Unlike current-use gifts, which may be spent completely for immediate needs, endowment gifts are invested and only the earned income portion can be spent.
The Foundation offers four unique investment options for you to maximize the impact and outreach of your gift:
- Education Endowments maintain and ensure the permanence of building and construction-related training programs in academic institutions throughout the state.
- Research Endowments fund independent studies on issues critical to the development of housing in California. Browse publications in our Research Library.
- Operational Endowments fund the growth of the California Homebuilding Foundation and the ongoing sustainability of its programs and services to our industry and community.
- Scholarship Endowments benefit students pursuing industry-related studies. Named endowments allow the contributor to select a specific college or university as an annual recipient. Visit our Scholarship page.
California Homebuilding Foundation endowments are carefully managed under the direction of its Board of Trustees, and assisted by an investment committee, a professional investment advisor and experienced Foundation staff to generate permanent, ongoing support for building industry students, construction trades education, and industry research.
CHF endowments are donated by our Founders, Hall of Fame Honorees, Board members and friends. Meet other CHF Benefactors.

CONSTRUCTION TRAINING STUDENTS NEED YOU

Plan a gift with CHF to start building dreams for the students who will build our future homes.
