career and COLLEGE Resources
A Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway is a sequence of courses connecting the students with their career interests from junior high, high school, to college and beyond. BITA is cultivating the next generation of trade professionals by opening the door for students pursuing a career or collegiate focus in the construction industry.
BITA encourages students to pursue higher education in building industry-related studies. BITA is an approved program by the University of California with courses 1 & 2 accredited under the "g" subject requirement. Each BITA site partners with post-secondary institutions to cross-walk curricula, building on knowledge and skills at each grade level with the goal to set up dual enrollment.
Post-Secondary Education Programs
CHF has distributed over $3 million in scholarships to students enrolled in industry-related programs such as construction management or architecture. Our goal is to help students complete their degrees and find employment within the homebuilding industry.
Enhanced vocational education programs implemented at the high school level, such as BITA, provide an alternate career path that prevents students from dropping out of school by helping them land a job soon after graduation. Practical training and work-ready skill development leads to employment at above-minimum wage levels and the ability to establish a successful employment record.
Careers In Construction Resources
For the over one-half of the California student population that will choose to not attend college, BITA provides an excellent career path to immediate, skill-based and sustainable employment. BITA students are ready for entry-level positions in the industry after successful completion of BITA 2.
